convert format

ffmpeg -y -i ihtsbih.webm -aspect 16:9 -vf scale=720x306,pad=720:480:0:87:black -target ntsc-dvd -q:a 0 -q:v 0 output.mpg
(-y overwrites files without asking)

Maintain Aspect Ratio

original height / original width x new width = new height
  • Get new height
  • Scale video from 720x480 (if this is your output)
  • So if new video is supposed to be 480 high but to maintain aspect it needs to be 306 then scale to 306 like above and add two 87 pix bars

convert to dvd

dvdauthor -o dvd/ -t dvd.mpg

then

export VIDEO_FORMAT=PAL

or

export VIDEO_FORMAT=NTSC

then

dvdauthor -o dvd/ -T
mkisofs -dvd-video -o dvd.iso dvd/

Then burn
